Who We Are
an image

The Limestone Learning Foundation is a registered charitable organization established by the Limestone District School Board in 1999, to enhance educational opportunities for students by raising money for projects and initiatives that could not otherwise be offered by the Board.

Investing together in our students' future is the motto of the Limestone Learning Foundation, or LLF, which funds special projects in the focus areas of Literacy & Numeracy, Science & Technology, the Arts, and Innovative Practices. Funded programs demonstrate creativity, innovation, empowerment, and excellence and ensure that an increasing range of educational opportunities will be available for all students, now and in the future.

We depend solely upon donations and grants from interested individuals, businesses, service organizations, and charitable Foundations to enable us to work for elementary and secondary students in the Board. As a public, non-profit Foundation with charitable status, all gifts are completely tax deductible, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.

Funds are raised through donations, endowments, special events and other sources. The Foundation accepts donations from individuals, corporations, and service organizations interested in furthering excellence in public education. With the future in mind, the Limestone Learning Foundation has also established a permanent Endowment Fund for In Memoriam gifts, bequests, annuities and other planned giving options to ensure the long-term continuity, stability, and sustainability of the work of the Foundation.

The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors with representatives from our communities throughout our district. It is through shared responsibility and community partnerships that student opportunities will be truly enhanced.

Strategic Plan 2016 - 2021

The Limetone Learning Foundation supports “Excellence in Education” for students in the Limestone District School Board by funding innovative projects in literacy/numeracy, science/technology, innovative practice and the arts not otherwise provided by government funding. Our vision is to inspire enhanced learning opportunities by funding school and classroom projects through collaboration, community engagement and partnerships now and in the future.  The Strategic Plan focuses on three key areas: Sustainability, Partnerships and Communication.
