Subject:$20,000 raised at A Classy Country
It's a little bit country...a little bit gourmet...and a whole lot of fun! The Limestone Learning Foundation held ‘A Classy Country Evening’ at the DreamCatcher Farm on Saturday, September 24 featuring the award-winning, and much sought after group, The Abrams, with performances by Kyle Dunn, Adam Knapp and Kickback, along with future stars Taya Williams and Gracey Shea, students of the Limestone District School Board.

The evening featured superb music, casual dining, a live auction and dancing. The fundraising event, in support of the Tristin Osborne Memorial Fund and the Limestone Learning Foundation, was a huge success raising $20,000 for future learning projects in literacy, numeracy, the Arts and technology, as well as scholarships for LDSB graduates through the Tristin Osborne Memorial Fund. The Tristin Osborne Memorial Fund is in memory of Tristin Osborne (1980-2004), a graduate of the Limestone School Board who, in spite of the challenges she faced because of her learning disabilities, was determined to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.  Sadly, Tristin passed away in her sleep just two months short of receiving her teaching certificate, which was granted posthumously.  The Osborne Family established a scholarship fund in her memory to allow her beliefs and dreams to continue by helping to fund post-secondary education for individuals with learning disabilities.
