Space Tomatoes - J.R. Henderson PS
J.R. Henderson Public School was awarded $4,446 for its "Space Tomatoes" project. This bilingual project is part of the Canadian Space Agency Tomato-sphere project, a blind-test in which students compare and grow seeds from a variety of sources, including the International Space Station. Junior students will conduct experiments and research, compile data, create media presentations, develop a classroom blog and report their findings to Canadian scientists as part of this large-scale data collection. The grant supported the purchase of six iPads to allow student students the opportunity to track, analyze and share their results far beyond the scope of traditional pen and paper.
