Health and Wellness added to area of funding

In response to a changed world of learning for students and educators in the Limestone District School Board the LLF is pleased to announce an amendment to the Foundation's Strategic Plan. It is one that will allow the Foundation to support excellence in education through innovative methods. Adding "Health and Wellness" to the Areas of Impact - Literacy & Numeracy, Science & the Environment, Technology Visual Arts & Music, strengthens the three pillars of Mentorship, Sustainability and Pay it Forward for which the LLF is well known.

The LLF vision is to inspire excellence in education by supporting school and classroom initiatives, not funded by the Provincial government - those that demonstrate creativity, innovation, empowerment, equity and inclusion. With this amendment, the Foundation expands its ability to offer an even wider expanse of needs - needs that are, as a result of the unforeseen circumstances of the COVID - 19 pandemic changes, "essential" to the well - being and health of LDSB students. At this time, the LLF is proud to align itself with the Food Sharing Project.

The Food Sharing Project is a registered non - profit charity that has been providing healthy food to schools for almost 40 years. Every week during the school year, the FSP delivers six tons of food to 88 schools across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington counties. The fresh and nutritious food supports school nutrition programs. Nourished students learn better.
