Honouring Our Land is a student-led initiative that honours the land we stand upon through the power of
the Arts within our community. A powerful mentorship between students,
Indigenous artists, and Knowledge Keepers. Students have embedded their
understanding and vision with the artists to produce powerful visual concepts
to strengthen our community and share a visual history on the journey of truth
and reconciliation. Kirk Brant, Onagottay, Lynda Gerow – Mahingan, Rick Revelle
and Maureen Walton all have shared their knowledge with NDSS students.
Honouring Our Land murals are located in the school’s library. They represent
the four directions of the medicine wheel.
