It is important to have diverse books available to students because they have different values and cultures. The family [in the book] is black, they have family dinners on Sunday, and no phones at the table.
The book attracted me because I grew up watching spider man as a kid and I like that he has different powers than the real Spiderman. He can go invisible, he has a lightning web, and he has friends from different worlds.
I learned that racist comments are not in this book. I learned to help people.
