Annual golf tournament reaches new heights

Many thanks go out to the event’s many sponsors and silent auction donors; to those volunteers who contributed their time, energy and creativity to helping out; to the players who braved wind and weather to support the Limestone Learning Foundation, and to all of the staff at Loyalist for their composure under fire (or water, as it were).

That day, the LLF and Johnson Insurance Inc. introduced a new initiative that will impact learning in every Grade 4 to 6 classroom across the Limestone District School Board. Giving students the opportunity to connect, question and explore.

Books are Back will build rich classroom libraries for independent reading. These are not text books, but important topical stories featuring high quality, literary authors' works at appropriate reading levels not provided by government funding.

Twenty-five titles to support Indigenous Education, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity. BelairDirect, formerly Johnson Insurance, launched this initiative with a cash donation of $27,000 of the $60,000 goal.

In addition, more than $55,000 was raised at the annual Sandra Davison Memorial Golf Tournament. We had a great time, and hope to see everyone again in June of 2022 for our next golf tournament.
