Posted on 05/09/2019
The Estate of Larry Gibson supports music education in elementary schools throughout the Limestone District School Board. This year's recipient is Module Vanier for the project From Pails to Percussion: Exploring the Missing Voices.

The initiative will use percussion as a tool and lens for Grade 7 and 8 students to have knowledge and appreciation of music from around the world. There will be specific focus on contemporary and traditional First Nations, Métis, and Inuit traditions, cultures and perspectives in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action.

This year's award is in the amount of $8,324.

The Limestone Learning Foundation is appreciative of the significant and lasting legacy the Larry Gibson Music Fund is creating for students. We hope that Mr. Gibson's family knows how much our students appreciate this gift. The connection to music honors his memory.

Module Vanier is a Grade 7/8 French Immersion Program at KCVI/Kingston Secondary School.
